Flyte sighed in frustration as he dove away beneath the surface but was glad that he was relaxing.
'Thats why I am in your stupid class - so that I can learn how to not die!' she muttered at the spot where he had plunged under.

Stephan had gone down quite ways into the weeds when his shoulder hit a jagged rock. He didn't think he was bleeding, but he had to make sure. Again this was the edge of where the more dangerous and questionable parts of the lake were. he kicked off the same rock and surfaced at the same spot where he submerged.
He felt his shoulder and looked, but there was no cut. He got lucky, if that werewolf had caught scent of his blood, he would be in trouble. He looked at Flyte.
"If you dive down there, be careful. It's shrouded in weeds and jagged rocks," he said, slicking his hair back yet again.

'Oh then it sounds exactly like something I should do.' Flyte laughed and rolled her eyes at the teacher. She reached out a hand and splashed him, sending a spray of water his way with a smile.
'Thanks for coming with me, I needed this too.' she grinned at him.

"Don't get it in you head that by getting me to calm down, you are getting away with nothing. You'll still have a detention tomorrow night," Stephan explained, keeping a look out for any movement, any sound that should not be there.
He had to admit it, this girl was the first one to get him to relax, even just a little and for that, he was thankful. Though he was breaking school rules along with her, that was a problem. Treading water, he jumped slightly when and owl hooted and swooped over the lake.

'Detention? I think I can handle that.' Flyte grinned at him. 'Got to sleep sometime right?'
She laughed as he jumped at an owl and pulled a face at him.
'We have to work on the relaxing thing a little more though.' She treaded water, closing her eyes and pretending to be in a trance. 'I Forsee Many More Detentions In The Future.'

"I can always set those detentions up to be served with another teacher," Stephan said as he treaded water and watched the owl fly above them. Getting a better look at the light, he knew it. He swore as he looked around. The swim back to the dock was too long for just a letter. Shaking his head, he held up his arm and called it down.
"Untie that letter Miss Morticroft," he stated as the owl landed. This was a first for him, accepting a letter in the middle of a lake. He closed his eyes as the tension mounted inside him.

Flyte rolled her eyes at the thought of detention with another teacher, there were a few she liked but she thought Professor Kerr had a really great aura around him and she couldnt help but be drawn to it.
Untie that letter Miss Morticroft
'Only if you call me Flyte.' she retorted and reaching up removed the letter from the owl. She looked at him with a serious expression as she felt his tension levels rise. 'I will give it too you if you let me take some of the trouble away, let me channel for you..'
She placed a hand on his shoulder and extended the other hand, ready to snatch it away if he refused.
Just when I get him to unwind, She inwardly cursed the letter and the misbegotten owl, hoping that it was something positive and speculating as to who sent mail in the middle of the night.

Before she could do anything, he quickly swam over and grabbed the letter out her hand. He held it up, and tapping it with his wand, it vanished from his hand and it sat waiting on his desk for him to open it. "Now you are doing a fine job of channeling my emotions, but as you can tell, I have a few issues with physical contact with people I don't know very well," he said removing her hand once again.

'Yeah well its not like I need to be psychic to figure out that you haven't let anyone near you since the witch.' Flyte spat the words out, like they were poison. 'How can you ever heal if you won't let yourself.'
She turned and swam deeper into the lake, angry at him for being so damnably stubborn. Her mind focused only on her anger and hurt at his rejection of her help.

Stephan sighed as he watched her swim away. She had yet another point. This was another thing Jenna had over him. Dislike for being touched. Cursing at himself, he swam after her, not only because he felt responsible for her anger, but because she was also swimming in very dangerous waters. He caught up with her.
"Okay, let's say I give it a shot," he said, a bit apprehensively as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

let's say I give it a shot
Flyte eyed him warily, he placed her hand on his shoulder and the warmth of his flesh made her cheeks flush. She nodded and closed her eyes, letting her power swirl out in small tendrils pulling the tension, anxiety and stress from him and replacing it with calm, contentment and peace. Her eyes flashed open and she gasped out loud.
'I won't force you to be happy Stephen, I wouldn't do that - I can help you to enjoy the next few days without the hurt coming back...' She exhaled and closed her eyes again.

Stephan closed his eyes. It felt strange, to open up and accept help from somebody, let alone an empath. But he wanted to get rid of this emotional pain. The water was helping, but he needed more help than just that.
He opened his eyes, scanned the area around him and spoke. "What have I told you about calling me by my first name?" he asked as he watched a few birds fly into the forest and heard the howl of a wolf quite a distance away.

She felt the anger draining from him and out into the cosmos, she sent her tendrils of power forth and rooted out the darkness that had entwined itself in every crevice and crack it had been able to find.
'Shut up Professor' she muttered and pushed every positive ray of sunshine she had inside her into him. Until he was packed so tight that she couldn't cram in a drop more. She used the hand on his arm to pull herself towards him and wrapped her arm around his neck.
'Just bear with me, I need to take a moment, catch my breath.'

He certainly felt better now that he had let her help him. He didn't know though if this feeling would last throughout the day. He kept a tight hold on her so she wouldn't drown until she had caught her breath. He kept quiet as he finished the scan around them, making sure they were still safe.
Closing his eyes, he took a deep cleansing breath and savored the good feeling inside of him.

She rested against him, trying not to impede on his physical space to much. She could feel how warm his body was against hers and she felt her breathing coming in and out, ragged, shallow.
'how do you feel?' her mouth was right by his ear and she whispered the words just loud enough for him to hear them.
