Sylvia had taken time away from school, She often did not feel as if she was strong enough. She sat in her favorite spot in the forest. The water sparkled before her as she sat up top on the mountain. Slowly she moved her hand over the water, It glided effortlessly over the cold water. Sylvia smiled as she placed her wand and cloak beside her and began to take off her boots. Lace by lace she unwound her boots from her legs.

The wolf prowled through the woods, its sensitive ears taking in the strange sounds of the Forbidden Forest. The coursework he had in America was a bit different than the Hogwarts curriculum, so since arriving, he'd been busy making up some of the things he'd need to complete to get on with his sixth-year work. But now he was caught up... and he could finally get out and stretch his legs.
He sniffed the air... someone was out here. He followed the scent until he saw the girl sitting at the water. The wolf cocked its head, studying her with a very un-wolflike curiosity.

Sylvia continued to unlace her boots, one lace at a time. After a feqw minutes she removed the leg high boots from her feet and smiled, Her voice soft, "Thats better." She then placed her feet gently into the water and smiled. She then slowly looked around her and finally noticed the wolf, She moved backwards and picked up her things quickly, Just in case she needed to run.

But the wolf made no move to approach her. Instead, it sat down where it had been when it had first caught sight of her. It regarded her curiously for a moment longer, before it began to rapidly grow and reshape, until Phoenix Aster sat where it had been.
"I am... sorry," he said softly, pausing very briefly as his voice slipped high enough to sting for a moment. "I didn't... mean to scare you." His accent, while probably a bit harder to notice with him only whispering loudly, was definitely America, and though he spoke a bit haltingly, it sounded more like someone who was speaking through a bad cough than someone who didn't know what to say.

Sylvia quickly directed her attention to the voice behind her, She turned and smiled, "Oh It is fine." She sat her things back down and sat back down herself. She rested her feet in the water, Her voice calm and serene, "Would you like to join me? It is quite peaceful up here." She smiled sweetly.

Phoenix studied the girl for a moment, then nodded. He wore no cloak, since had not been human when he came out into the forest, but he did remoe his shoes, laying them next to his wand as he joined her. This was, he reflected, the first fellow student he'd really interacted with, aside from asking for a dish or a book to be passed during his hectic start here at Hogwarts. Compared to how such interactions had gone in America, this was a distinct improvement.
"Thank you," he said softly. Now that he was close enough for her to hear him easily, he had a much easier time speaking. "I don't believe I've met you... my name is Phoenix. Phoenix Aster."

Sylvia smiled over to him, "It is a pleasure, Sylvia.. Sylvia Snape." She offered out her hand to him and waited. She spoke slowly, "Your new here correct?" She raised an eyebrow in question.

Phoenix took her hand graciously.
"Yes, I am," he answered as he leaned back against his arms. "I just transferred from my old school in America, after we moved," he elaborated.

Sylvia smiled delicately showing her freckles in her cheeks. She turned and looked towards the moon, "It is not full moon, You must not be werewolf then correct?" She remembers his wolf form only seconds before. Clmly she sat back down and looked up at the man.

Phoenix smiled a little, then shook his head. "No... not a werewolf," he told her. "So you do not need to worry about being bitten," he added smiling a little more.
He looked around the clearing, then back at the girl. She was extremely pretty, though he did his best not to stare. "Am I right in assuming that you come up here often?" he asked. This place was, after all, not easy to find, with the woods separating it from the school.

Sylvia turned towards the water and smiled, Her voice calm as she spoke, "Indeed, this is my hidden paradise." She moved her feet through the water and smiled warmly. She then turned towards the other, "So, What brings you out tonight?" She looks at him curiously.

"Restlessness. Too much time in the castle catching up on work, not enough fresh air." He looked around the secluded spot again. "A wolf wandering inside the grounds probably wouldn't be a welcome sight... at least it never was at my old school. I don't want to risk it here. So the woods seemed like a good place to go." He set his wand down, then looked over at her with an amused smile. "Are you sure that you don't mind me intruding on your little private paradise?"

Sylvia smiled towards the man, "It is not a bother, In fact it is pleasurable to have company." She smiled and began to climb down from the cliff. She then moved towards the water and calmly walked into the water. She reached neck high and smiled, Her voice calm, "Its a bit cold, But would you wish to join me? It is quite refreshing." She sank under the water and wet her hair slowly.

Phoenix watched her for a moment, then smiled slightly. He climbed down, slipping into the water with her. "If company would please you, who am I to disappoint you?" he said.
He looked at her curiously. "If it's that lonely out here, why do you come out here alone?"

Sylvia smiled towards him, "Perhaps that it is to get away, From what I do not know." She laughed slightly. She then layed back and smiled. Her voice sounding soft as she spoke, "The moon is full and I am at peace under the stars." She continued to smile.
