Some roads are more dangerous than others

"All right... it's right down this path," Oryn said as he led Mary down a trail in the Forbidden Forest. He held his wand in his hand. "Don't come in here without your wand," he said quietly, "Or anything you might have that you can hide yourself with. This trail sort of skirts along the edges, so it's pretty safe, but you never know in here."

[mary]

"Okay... but as long as you don't decide to run away." Mary told him. She looked ahead and marveled at the peace and beauty of the forest, it was magical.

Oryn chuckled. "Now now... that wouldn't be a good way for me to inspire confidence, would it?" he mused, leading her down the path. They came to a fork in the trail, and Orny picked a path that led steeply downward, which he began taking carefully.

[mary]

Mary chuckled and slowly walked down the hill.
"Now I'm expecting you to catch me when I fall!" she told him, lauging a tad. She stumbled a bit and gently fell onto Oryn.

Oh hell... Orn turned and caught her, and as a result, he skidded a few feet down the steep trail. He gritted his teeth as he dug his foot into the path to stop the skidding, and for a moment he stood perfectly still, supported by his lower foot, which was caught against a rock in the path, and the arm that was wrapped around Mary. Finally, he glanced up at her. "You did that on purpose," he accused, a hint of humor in his voice.

"Yes, of course, I love to fall down hills. Especially when I run into handsome boys, like yourself." Mary said, rolling her eyes. Her eyes traveled down to his hand around her. She smiled and looked at Oryn.
"If you don't stop this behavior I just might kiss you." She warned with a smirk.

[Oryn Vance]

Oryn smirked back at the girl. "Oh dear. That would be quite a shame, wouldn't it?" he mused. He didn't let go, because at the moment, it was a bit physically impossible to do without both of them falling.

[mary]

"Um... so, how are we going to get down without falling?" Mary asked, peeking over his shoulder.
"You can... go down first." She said, smiling.

Oryn frowned, thinking. He'd have to do it quickly... he could do it without falling, but keeping her from falling... Well, there was only one way for it, he supposed. With a sweep of his free arm, he scooped her up, immediately trotting down the hill before he could fall. When the path evened out, he had to keep going a little ways before he could slow down enough to stop. "No... ladies first, after all," he joked.

"Thank you!" Mary blushed. She looked up and met his eyes... and that's where her heart skipped a beat. She started to lean forward, but stopped herself and jumped down out of his arms. Straightening her skirt, Mary began to walk again.
"Do you know what time it is?" She asked Oryn.

Oryn shrugged. "Does it really matter?" he asked, since no, he didn't know. "Take the left path here," he added, since she seemed bent on hurrying away from him.

[mary]

"But... that one's dark," Mary said, standing next to a large tree. The shown through the leaves, casting an eery but fascinating ((if that even makes sense)) light on her. She checked her waistband to see if her wand was still there. It was.

Oryn chuckled, then took the lead again, his lit wand held in front of him. "It won't be for long, he said," taking her hand and leading her down the path. "Just trust me."

He led her down the path, until they finally came to a break in the trees. The grass gave way to the stone of the mountain, and the rock gave way to what appeared to be a hot spring, steaming lightly in front of them. "Don't ask me how it got here... probably someone made it as a school project one year. But you did say that you liked swimming and that the lake was too cold..."

Mary squealed and gave Oryn a sideways hug before sliding her sneakers off and dipping her toes in the water. She sighed.
"Oh, it's perfect temperature. God, I'll have to remember this place." Mary said. She looked at him, then started to unbutton her shirt.
"Are you going to just watch or are you getting in?" She asked, her shirt sliding off her pale skin.

Oryn appeared to consider it, then started unbuttoning his own shirt. "Oh, I suppose I can't let you have all the fun," he answered. "After all, there's no squid in here to keep you company. I wouldn't want you getting too lonely," he added, a little tease to his voice.
