Heather got bored of walking around hogsmead so she headed towards the woods in front of the shreiking shack. It was the most haunted place in Britian but also a quite place to be, perfect for Heather to read. As she began to walk in towards the gate she could here a group of voices near her. "Who's there?" Heather called out.

Veritas decided to venture inside the Shack to check it out. He was rounding the corner with his friends when he heard Heather. "Hey Heather!" he called out. "What's going on? Planning to go in too? I know Gryffindors are brave and all but I didn't think you had it in you," he said teasinlgy, knowing full well that Heather was one of the bravest girls you'd come across.

"Well I wanted to ge taway and the Shrieking Shack is full of so much history, I thought it would be a good idea to explore as I am always up for an adventure." Heather said as smiled at Veritas. "For a minute I thought you were a Slytherin and did not want to get into a fight. So are you coming in?"

"You do tend to get in a lot of fights with the Slytherins, don't you? Silly Gryffindor. Anyhow, let's go in! I've never been inside before, have you?" he asked as he held the gate open for her.

"Wait I have not been in lots of fights with Slytherins, i just answer the ignorant ones in their language, I have only stoof up to Harley and Draco." Heather said shcoked at Veritas. "Yes I have been in here before three years ago with a friend, so shall we move closer?" Heather said as she thanked him for opening the gate for her.

Veritas walked slowly, looking up at the house wearily. Looking to the sides he saw old, broken statues covered in cobwebs. The fence lining the walkway leading up to the house was creepy enough, without even having to walk inside. And the windows... they were shattered and boarded up from the inside. "What kind of creature ever lived in there?" he wondered aloud.

"Mainly there are bogarts stuck round here and it is a breding grown for many different types of harmless inhabitants, you can see from the decaying of the house. It is said to be the most haunted place in Britian, sorry did I already say that? So where do you want to go." Heather asked him carefully moving around the old house.

"Sure, that's what they say, but what exactly earns it that title? Plenty of old ratty houses are infested with Bogarts and the like, but what is the magical definition of 'haunted'? Let's find some sort of room that looks like it may have once been a study. Maybe there are some books or pictures, or anything that can tell us more about this place's history, you know?" He stopped in the hallway and looked left and right. As far as he could tell, there were absolutely no wall decorations. What's more, nearly all the walls appeared to have been scratched by some huge wild animal. What if the animal still lived in one of the rooms?

Veritas looked left and right, and in the direction Heather was gazing. But he couldn't see anything. "What portraits?" he asked. Then it occured to him that she was probably just being sarcastic. After all, the walls were completely bare. It made the place seem more menacing to Veritas.

"Heather?" said Veritas, now turning to look completely at her. "There's nothing there..." he said slowly. "That wall is completey care... as are all the other walls. Do you think there's some sort of charm that makes certain people see portraits?"

"Then..." started Veritas uncertainly, "maybe you've done something or seen or eaten something since the last time you were here that makes you see portraits. What do they look like?" He stared vaguely at the bare spot of wall Heather was dusting with her hand.
