First Lesson

Professor Gasson entered the greenhouse half an hour early. She needed to check the equipments and plants to make sure all was well before the students came in.

She patted a harmless Flitterbloom as she walked past the plants, humming to herself. She inhaled deeply. Exhale. Estelle Gasson loved the smell of the earth. It was forever spring in here.

Professor Gasson went up to the writing board and wrote a greeting message for the students:

Herbology

Please write your names on the board before taking your places

Annika turned the greenhouse doorknob. From outside, she can clearly see the professor writing somehing on the board (which she couldn't make out because the glass was too foggy). Smiling she entered the earth-smelled classroom. "Hello, professor," greeted the Ravenclaw. She took a few seconds to read the board and then walked in front to write her name.

Annika was in front of her. Anna was trying to hurry up. Her leg was aching from the bruised that she recieed from Quidditch practice. The glass door was ajar when Annika walked in. She forgot to close doors again! When will she ever learn! Anna shook her head and walked inside the greenhouse. She was quite amazed on how the professor managed to keep the place clean from soil or dirt. She loved Herbology as its one of the easiest subjects to score. Plants are the 'thing'. She wrote her name on the board and turned toward the professor. "Good morning, professor!" greeted Anna. She walked and stand beside Annika. Head tilting slidely over her left, "You forgot to close the door again!"

[audrey]

Audrey looked at her watch. Nope, I'm not late! Early as usual! She chuckled to herself. February was coming and she could not wait for it! She was hoping the chills of January would go away and maybe it would be a little warmer in Britain. Audrey turned the door knob and entered. It was warmer outside. She liked it. "Good morning, prof!" shouted Audrey. She was in the mood for Herbology, even though it was not her best subject.

After writing her name on the board, she walked toward Anna and stand beside her. There wasn't any desks or chairs visible in the greenhouse.

"Sorry about the bet, Anna!" said Audrey. She was trying to make up for being too early in Ancient Runes yesterday.

[Krutika Gehi]

Krutika stopped outside Greenhouse. She has seen three other girls going inside while she was on her way. She looked at her watch, "Uh-oh .. I am early" she said, opened the door and entered the Greenhouse. "Good morning, Professor," she smiled, and after reading the board, added her name in the list. Then she turned and smiled at other girls and stood beside them.

Professor Gasson read the names on the board.

"Annika Nox," she turned her head to look at the Ravenclaw who arrived first.
"Anna Parish," the Gryffindor who came in right after...
"Audrey Swanton," the cheery Hufflepuff...

"...and Krutika Gehi," she ended the list, smiling at the Ravenclaw.

"Well," she clapped her hands, beaming. "Congratulations for being here early. I wasn't expecting any students yet, so soon after breakfast you see. That's why the tables and chairs..." she gave a quick flick of her wand, "...were neatly tucked away,"

Two long tables appeared, seemingly out of a thin air. It was on either side of the greenhouse, facing each other. Stools came right after, ten for each table. They all plopped down on the earth right side up, not so neatly arranged.

"My fault fully that you had to stand, students. Forgive me. Now take your places, please." She said, walking between the two long tables. "Do you like the arrangement? I find it very practical; I can look on as you do your work," she explained conversationally.

Crossing her arms, she looked at her watch.

"Let's give the others a few more minutes, then we'll start, alright?"

[Krutika Gehi]

Krutika smiled back at Professor. She re-arranged a stool bit properly before sitting down on it. She took out her book of Herbology and started turning its pages, waiting for lesson to get started.

[anna]

Anna saw the Ravenclaw moved first towards one of the table. She followed and sat beside her. Krutika was opening the Herbology textbook. I wonder..., she thought. Anna put her bag soundessly on the table and faced the girl. "Bet you have read the first few chapters, if not the whole book, right?" said Anna smilingly.

[Krutika Gehi]

Krutika smiled at Anna. "I really look like it?" she asked in surprise. "Well, actually to be honest, I didnot get time to read it, you know, I have been busy with detentions." She joked, with a very innocent expression on her face.

[anna]

"Detentions? Really? Well, I got myself detentions too! I had to scrub the...urghh...bed pans at the Hospital Wing," said Anna. Anna turned to scan the greenhouse. "Hey, what is that plant called? I haven't seen it all my life!" said Anna, her right hand pointed to a group of plants in front of them.

[annika]

"Okay, professor!" said Annika cheerly. A ravenlclaw and a gryffindor were already there, talking. She walked towards them and pulled out the stool from under the table. She sat there quietly.

[Krutika Gehi]

"No idea.. looks interesting though, isn't it?" replied Krutika. Just then another Ravenclaw came and sat beside them. "Hi," said Krutika.
