Emily sat on the couch right next to the fire place for one: warmth and two: light. She sat reading one of her favorite novels. Also listening to her her music. Instead of really comprehending the words on the page or the lyrics to the song. She began to drift away in her own thoughts.
I wish now could be like back then, this book I'm reading seems so perfect. The men were kind and respectful. You would ride in horse drawn carriages. Everything seemed so elegant. I must come to the reality that the world will never be that way.
She then went into thought about the music she had been listening to before her other thoughts had interrupted her, which seemed to happen a lot.
I wanna leave a legacy, how will they remember me? Did I choose to love...
She kept reciting the lyrics over and over in her head.
"I wonder if I will leave a legacy, I'm sure everyone wants to, but I wonder if I will. Oh but Of course I won't, I'm nobody. I'm just a girl in this fascinating world or ours. Oh but wouldn't it me marvelous if I was remember because of something I did?"
Oh shoot I think I just said that out loud. She cringed then started to laugh. I'm sure they got a laugh out of my gibberish

Veritas dropped onto the brown suede sofa after a particularly long day of classes and looked over at Emily, who had begun to mumble to herself. "You alright there, Em?" he asked.

"Oh... haha sorry, just thinkin' to myself."
Dang I knew someone heard me
"So how has your day been Veritas? If you don't mind me asking." she pulled off her head phones. Then put a bookmark in the 675 page book she was reading, then slamed it shut.

"It's been good. I finished a picture I'd been working on for a while. It's of my iguana." He rumaged around in his bag to pull out his sketchbook. He found it, and held it out to her.

"Oh goodness that's wonderful! I'm impressed." she stared at the great detail in his work. "You must of worked hard, do you want to keep doing this type of thing?"
I wish I could draw like that, ever so gracefully, but I'm afraid I would fall flat on my face. I suppose not everyone can be good at everything.

"Nah, it'll probably just be a hobby. Every now and then it's just nice to take my mind off things. Thanks, by the way," he added, proudly tucking the sketchbook away again. "So what's that song you were singing?"

"oh.. haha ya heard that huh, so sorry that must've been so painful to your poor ears! Oh it's just a song I reall ylike nothing special."
Shoot, he heard the song too, ha oh well
"Well, I htink that maybe you should think more in to the whole drawing thing, you are quite good at it."
"So what classes will you be taking? Last year, am I right?"

"Yup. Last year, at long last. I'm planning to get a job with the Ministry, hopefully working closely with the Aurors. I'm not planning to become an auror per se, just to work in the offices while they do the field work, you know? Maybe you're right, I could even be a sketch artist. They need those kinds of people all the time. So basically, I'm taking Defense, Arithmancy, Transfiguration and Charms. How about you?"

"Yep, same here... I thin kit will be a good year dispite everthing."
Oh shoot the fire is dying
"Accio blanket" she said with a flick of her wand and a very cozy blanket made it's way towards her.
"So how was your summer did you enjot yourself?"

"Well, the first half wasn't very enjottable. We spent the majority of it putting wards on the house, and then my mother insisted we clean the attic while we were at it. There were all kinds of magic things that I had to handle because father was at work and mother is a muggle. I guess she chose this summer because I was finally of age. The rest of the summer, however, we spent travelling to Venezuela, where mother's cousins live. It was beautiful. What did you do?"

"I guess that's the smart way to clean huh?"
What did I do? What did I not do?
"Well, first it started out with quidditch camp... exciting I know. Then right after that I visited the muggle world because I like tot volenteer over there.. helping with disabled kids... did that for about ehhh 3 weeks. The I came back to the school to help kids out with the classes they had failed. I also went swimming... and worked on my diving."
Don't think I missed anything
Emily smiled then laughed. "Oh but, I don't want to bore you with things about me, I am so un-interesing. Venezuela huh?!? Wow I bet it was beautiful anything with a name like that has to be absoutly stunning, am I right?"

"Quidditch camp, that does sound like fun. Yeah, Venezuela is a beautiful place. The landscape is just amazing. It's right on the Atlantic, so I got to swim a lot, too. And of course, the language is beautiful. My mom has taught me Spanish since I was a baby, so I get to practice whenever we go. "But anyways, what are you planning on doing after you graduate?" At this he pulled out his Arithmancy homework and settled himself by the coffee table to work.

"Oh gosh, I have no idea." she sighed.
"There are so many choices, no too many choices." she corrected herself.
"Maybe Teaching? Or writing, acting, singing? No idea." she took a deep breath. "I have no idea."

"Teaching wouldn't be so bad," he said, beginning a long essay. As he openned his ink, he looked around the common room. "I've always liked the Hufflepuff common room. It isn't archaic looking like the Gryffindor room... it's cozy, but not overwhelmingly so. It's just right for homework and lounging, don't you think? And it adds an element of familiarity since it's right on the level of the grounds outside, so you don't feel like you're in the clouds. I'll miss this place."

"Yes, I do agree." she laughed at his observation. "You are right. I really like it here. Maybe I will teach after all. But who knows what the future holds, it is so very unpredictable." she snuggled in more with her massive blanket.
"Well you must come to visit, you can't leave this place for good. I know I never could. It's such a big part of me, ya know?"
