Adelaide rolled over and shut her alarm off. Yawning, she sat up, tired from lack of sleep. She had been up half the night thinking about her experience in the Entrance Hall, and it still hadn't sat well with her. Resolving to visit the owls early the next morning, before anyone else woke up, she had set her alarm for five. And now she was regretting it.
Rubbing her eyes to rid them of sleep, she stood and walked over to her closet. After picking out a black skirt and turquoise blouse, she got dressed and continued to fix her hair. Adelaide peered into the mirror and was startled by how messy her hair was this morning. ~My! I must have had a restless night last night. Goodness. I suppose I'll just wear it straight today...~ Giggling a bit at her appearance, she wrinkled her nose and instantly her hair was straight. She smiled, happy that despite not actively showing she was a metamorphagus, she could still change her appearance at will.
Adelaide pulled her straight, red locks back into a low ponytail and started out of her dormitory and to the owlery. Sometime later, she arrived after walking up who knows how many stairs. She wove through the room, stopping in front of one owl who was preening his or herself...Adelaide couldn't tell which. She pulled some seed from her pocket of the jacket she had thrown on as a last minute thought, and held it out in her hand to the owl. ~Do owls even like seeds?~ The owl nibbled a bit off her hand and then hopped a bit away, seeming uninterested. ~Hmm...Well...that wasn't a very helpful answer...~
Smiling to herself, she caught site of the sun rising, and walked to an alcove that was open to the outside. Adelaide sat some seed next to her and watched the sun rise in silence. ~Isn't nature beautiful?~ She suddenly heard a noise behind her, but thinking it was probably just one of the owls, she kept her attention on the rising sun.

Tant walked slowly up the the owlery early i the morning and she wasn't kidding when she said early.
Yawning as she walked Tant scratched her arms and changed her pace of slow walking to a jog up the stone stairs which lead to the entrance.
Tant slowed to a stop as she reached the last step which was more slippery then she thought. As she stepped on it Tant slipped and fell to the leveled ground which was covered in owl poop.
"Och" Tant cursed as she stood up and brushed owl dropping off her. Looking up she noticed a student sitting feeding owls seeds and looking out at a arched window.

Sighing, Adelaide turned back around, deciding she had spent plenty of time admiring the amazing sun rise; it wasn't why she had come. She was taken aback when she saw another person in the Owlery ~Hmm. I suppose it wasn't just an owl. Funny. When I don't go jumping to conclusions, I would have been right. Shame really...that I can't jump to them when I should...~
Shaking her head, she came out of her thoughts and realized it probably would be rude for her not to say anything to the woman. Putting on a fake smile, she certainly wasn't happy to be up so early, Adelaide walked over. "Hello, there. Are you okay? It sounded like a nasty fall there, and considering..." Adelaide paused looking the woman up and down and seeing that she had a few owl droppings on her legs. "I'd say that'd be correct. You didn't hurt yourself did you?"
Adelaide stuck her hand back into her pocket, withdrawing another handful of seed and held her hand out, wondering if any of the owls would decide to eat some. "Pardon my rudeness, please. I've forgotten to introduce myself. I'm Adelaide Tewkesbury, and you're...you're a professor here aren't you?" She jumped a bit as an owl landed on her arm to eat out of her hand. Grinning at the prospect of an owl actually eating from her hand, she continued. "What brings you here so early in the morning?"

Tant looked at the student who approached her
"Thanks don't worry i'm fine" Tant answered Scraping off Owl dropping from her leg.
Yes well hello adelaide Tant said she already knew this student from one of her history lessons.
"And yes i am a professor." Tant hadn't been a professor long as she didn't know how to answer the student as she asked what brings her up here so early..
I have to post a few letters to see if i can order some history glodes from diagonally. That was Tant true full answer as she signalled a owl over to her.
Tipo was Tant owl he was old and a bit slow but he was a beautiful snow owl.Tant had the understanding he was crossed with another bird because of his fascinating wing that only the tip of them were orange. Tant took out a small owl treat that was shaped as a mouse. Then reameabering a student was whatching her Tant desided to ask her a question.
Why are you out so early.?

((Adelaide doesn't take History of Magic since she is a Seventh Year...so, you knowing her doesn't exactly make any sense....just thought I'd throw that out there.))
"History globes from diagonally? What exactly is that...or...where is it?" Adelaide looked puzzled...and in reality, she was...quite puzzled. She watched as the Professor called a snowy owl over to her. Adelaide smiled; it really was quite a pretty bird. She noticed that the tips of his wings were orange. ~How peculiar...hmm.~ She decided to question this. "Why exactly are the tips of your snowy owl's wings orange? It's rather unusual. I don't claim to be an expert on owls...but the orange wing isn't standard for a snowy owl..."
She brought her hand to the owl that was sitting on her arm at the present moment, and began to pet it. Smiling at the soft wings, she thought about how long it had been since she had held an owl. Quite a while. Adelaide grimaced as the professor brought out an owl treat that was shaped like a mouse. ~Hmm...At least it's not a real mouse.~ She shivered a bit, remembering the ordeal of the mice...and great hall...
Adelaide was brought back to the present as she caught the question posed to her by the professor. "Oh. I just thought I'd visit the owls this morning. It's been a while since I've been able to make it up here...and I used to enjoy time with them quite a bit. Seventh year is extremely busy...it's nice to take a break every now and then.~ She smiled, hoping that the professor wouldn't press any further. Adelaide knew it was only a half-truth...but she didn't want to relay her strange animal rights activist experience.

(Sorry i just didn't now another way to say I've seen you on the site before maybe you should try history it's a good subject lol) Tant smiled at the student. " Tipo was crossed breed..." Tant thought for a second. It's quite rear to find a cross breed owl I'm not sure what he's crossed with through. Tant smiled at the girls answer of why she was here.Tant had a feeling there was more to it but she just smiled. " Well Adelaide it's nice to see you so early maybe you'd like to walk with me for a while Tant asked. Waiting for an answer.

((Ah, well, they don't have to have met before. *shrugs* Oh, goodness, no. I can't handle another class. She's taking four or five at the moment...I might die with the classes all ready. Sorry.))
Adelaide nodded at the professor's answer. "Ah, well, of course, that makes sense." She didn't know why she didn't think of that first... "It is a bit odd to find a cross-breed isn't it? Ah, well, you have a very special owl then."
Happy the professor hadn't pressed the subject any more, Adelaide smiled. ~At least some people know when to stop asking questions. I wish more people did. Ah...well, I suppose we can't all be perfect. What an understatement!~
Adelaide nodded in response to the professor's question. "I'd be happy to walk for a bit...but, you must tell me your name first. Calling you "you" and just avoiding your name all together certainly won't do for the entire morning." Adelaide giggled a bit as she waited for the professor to answer her. "And where shall we walk?"

(Thats k if you do then fell free to join when you want.)
Tant smiled as adelaide pointed out something Tant found amusing.
"Oh sorry You may call me Tant."She knew that not many students called professors by their first name because they didn't want to rude but Tant liked being called by her first name.
I'll fist post this letter and we can walk just out the front of the owlry
which tant knew still was classified as the owlry because there was a tree which attracted all birds.
Not many students went their because they didn't want to get bird dropping on them but Tant found it wasn't a to bad this early in the morning.

Bryan walked up the steps to the owlery. When he walked in he found Adelaide and a professor he didn't know 'oh great, she's going to pester me about the mice again' he thought. Trying to avoid Adelaide's eye he moved straight over to his owl and gave an owl treat as it landed on his shoulder

Tant smiled as another student walked in Tant tied the letter to Tipos leg and was about to let him fly off when the student who just walked in approached her with curiosity in his eyes.

Adelaide shook her head lightly. "I think I'd rather stay inside the Owlery, that is, if you don't mind. Perhaps later. I don't get to spend much time with the owls, so I'd really like to at the moment." She smiled, knowing that she shouldn't leave the owlery and if she did it should be to go back to bed...if she left, she certainly would get side-tracked from her task.
Pulling more seed from her pocket, Adelaide moved to another Owl, letting the one roosted on her arm fly away. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone else enter the Owlery. Turning her head, she groaned as she saw who it was. ~Great. Just the person I did not want to see this morning. First, I get up early, and, now, I've got to deal with him. Just amazing.~ She turned back to Tant. "Please excuse me for a moment...I have something to take care of."
Not waiting for an answer, she turned around and walked toward Brian. "Fancy seeing you here. Come to feed your owl some live mice?" She raised her eyebrow, waiting for an answer. Adelaide knew it wasn't the nicest way to greet someone, but she was tired and didn't feel like being nice.

Bryan gave Adelaide a weak smile. "I know I deserve that, but listen to me. Jennifer keeps those mice in a very large cage and she doesn't give them to her owl until they die naturally." he said giving his owl another treat

Tant didn't care that the student had taken down her trip to the owl tree She always went in the morning because of the environment that surround it.The whole felling of the place was wonderful.
Tant watched her bird for a few minuets watching the owl wings closely from far away you couldn't see the orange tips but Tant knew they were There Sighing Tant turned and left to visit the owls tree.

Adelaide crossed her arms, raising her eyebrow. "And, what, may I ask, makes it okay to leave mice cooped up in a cage, waiting for them to die?" She knew she was being a bit unfair...but...she didn't really care at this point. "It still seems extremely inhumane to me. I believe animals should be free to go and come as they please..." She paused a moment, thinking of all the pets she had lost just for that reason...strangely, it had never saddened her. She had known they wanted to be free, and thought they should be.
~I certainly wasn't expecting to hear that she kept them in a cage though...that certainly adds to the story, doesn't it. I do have a rather horrid habit of making up my mind before hearing the entire facts...regardless...I still think it's wrong.~ Something suddenly clicked in her head. "Hey...weren't you going to release those mice into the Great Hall? Did you want them to be trampled? I never really understood what your motivation was for wreaking havoc was...care to let me in on that one since I got in trouble for it?"
It was true...to a point. But he didn't have to know she didn't actually get in deep trouble for it...
((Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been super busy!))

Bryan turned around to look Adelaide in the eyes and he took a deep breath "No, I wasn't going to release the mice" he said quietly, truth blazing in his eyes
