Annika tightened her cloak.
"Buuurrrrr. Its cold outside," she said.
Annika was standing in front of the Three Broomsticks. Better get meself a butterbeer! And so, she walked in to the pub, not surprised to find it filled with Hogwarts students. She took herself a seat at the counter.
She waited patiently for the bartender to show up.

Gwen walked from the storeroom back into the bar, dressed in a black skirt and a sea-green blouse. She saw that there was a customer at the counter. ~My first customer! How very exciting. It's so nice to be back~ Smiling, she walked over to the girl.
"Hello! Welcome to The Three Broomsticks. I'm Guinevere Gwendolyn Greyson, but you can call me Gwen. Can I get you anything?" Gwen realized that she was babbling a bit. She giggled. "I'm sorry. I think I'm a bit nervous. It's just that your my first customer."

From where she was, Annika could see her friends talking and laughing loadly. Maybe next time I'll join them.
A barmaid attends to her, introducing herself. She looked fabulous to Annika. At least she has figures that I don't.
"Oh hi! I always come here and thought I never seen you before. No wonder. You're new. Right! Its okay to be nervous on your first day. I'm Annika by the way. What may I call you?" replied Annika. She was smiling at the lady in front her. At least I met a new friend today! Not such a bad day after all.

~Thank goodness, she seems nice enough. It'd be awful to get one of those brats in here first. What a nightmare that'd be!~ Gwen smiled. "You can call me Gwen. It's nice to meet you. And I worked here during school and after traveling a bit, what do you know, I end up back here...and own the place." She laughed. "I assume you're studing at school. What year are you in?"

Annika was delighted that the lady was very friendly. She smiled and said, "Oh, I just started my third year. Its fun. I love going here. I used to come here a lot during school breaks. My family would join in. Its my first time being here while school's in session."
Annika adjusted her seat. "So....you've been travelling? Cool! I never travelled before. What's it like?"

Gwen beamed. "I adore to travel. It was...erm...nice to escape from the magical world for a while. I lived among muggles and traveled all around Europe." She thought for a moment. "It's a bit scary at first, but then you get a bit addicted to meeting all the new people and you can't stop traveling. It can be a bad thing...but I love it."
Gwen paused. Annika was very nice. It was a relief to have a nice first customer. "Can I get you anything?"

After heard what Gwen had to say, Annika admired her courage.
"You travel alone? Don't you get scared, since the death eaters and not to mention...You-Know-Who are out there!....Oh yes, I've been talking to you until I forgot what to order. Hmmm...I think I would like a butterbeer please!" said Annika.

Gwen smiled as she reached under the counter for a butterbeer. "Here you are. It's three golds...And yes, I do travel alone. Sometimes I'd get scared...but, what's traveling without a little adventure? And everywhere I'd go, there'd be someone who was nice and I got along with. It really was a very eye-opening experience, to know that there's good in this world where evil seems to be closing in..."

"Gosh, you're pretty brave. If I were you, I would just stay at home doing the...you know...household chores and everything until everything turns out find. But I guess, its been a few years now since the legendary Harry Potter gone with his friends. But I never heard from him since then....and that really frightens me everyday."
Annika sighed.
She looked at the lady in front of her.
"Don't the dementors come here for inspection? They used to right when Sirius Black was loose?"

Gwen frowned. "We haven't heard from them have we? Well, I'm pretty confident that everything will turn out the way it's supposed to in the end. I has to right? It can't turn out the way it's not supossed to..."
She shuddered. "I think they're supposed to come every so often...but I hope they don't. Quite honestly, it does nothing for my business...and, I'd rather take my chances."

Estelle walked into the shop, expecting a wall of sounds to hit her. It did. The atmosphere here was just different from the outiside, where the snow swallowed every single sound around. She sat by herself at end out the counter, where she could be far away from anyone else.
She heard the girl who sat not far from her talking to the bartender. Death Eaters...You-Know-Who...Estelle shivered. And it wasn't the cold.
She just sat there listening...she didn't mean to eavesdrop, it's just that ever since she knew her parents were killed in an accident during one of the Death Eaters' get-togethers of havoc, she tried to gather every single information possible on them. Living with a great aunt in the Muggle world didn't help at all. Even though Aunt Anna was a muggleborn witch too, they never talked about the subject very much. The sense of loss was just too great when you talk about it to someone who goes through the same thing you do. Because you know it affects them too...and that makes you even sadder.
Estelle sighed. She buried her head in her folded arms, shading the tears that started to flow.

"Too right you are," replied Annika.
She never liked those dementors, their hooded figure to the coldness they bring with them. She was glad that Hogwarts was indeed still safe. Headmistress Schwimmer really did a good job administrating the castle. She remembered quite clearly about the the attack last summer. She hated it and still does. It definitely left her traumatized.
As Annika awaited her butterbeer, she heard a sob or two coming from someone nearby her. She turned to her right and found the source. It was girl.
Maybe she's from Hogwarts. She looks like one.
Annika spoke to her. "Umm..excuse me. Are you okay?.... Can I buy you something to drink?"

Estelle heard the concerned tone of the girl who was talking to the bartender a moment ago. She lifted her head from the crook of her arm. Wiping the tears quickly, she nodded her head.
"I'm fine..and thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just get one myself. Thanks anyway," she said, giving the girl a small smile. Edging herself closer to the wall and further away from the girl, she reminded herself not to get too emotional in public. God knows how many times she's gotten concerned looks from other people already.
Sitting up straight, she proceeded to order a butterbeer for herself. "Excuse me," she said, trying to get the attention of the woman behind the counter.

Gwen sat a butterbeer in front of Annika before turning to the other girl who was sitting near. ~Hmmm. She seems a bit upset...but I'm not going to press...I've felt the pressure of being asked too much in my lifetime...It's best just to be able to keep things to yourself if you like..~ She shook her head to bring herself out of her quickly approaching memories and back to reality.
Smiling, she walked over. "Yes? I'm Gwen Greyson...Can I help you with anything?"

Annika watched the girl moved closer and further away from her. Her gaze stopped when Gwen handed her a mug of butterbeer.
"Thanks," replied Annika. She took a sip of the drink and felt the her body warming slowly.
