Stephan stood at the water's edge on what most would call a dreary rainy day. Looking out over the broken surface of the water, he picked up a small stone and skipped it. Many of the students had gone to Hogsmeade, but as he was gone for the past 3 days, he decided to stay and do some work.
Shaking his head, he sat down. The rain was cold on his skin, and he could have easily conjured an umbrella or moved to a dry. But he chose not use any means that would protect him from the falling moisture.

"Hello" Stephan said simply, not taking his eyes off the lake. He picked up another small stone and skipped it across the water, watching the ripples merge with the others from the rain. Sighing he closed his eyes as he laid back in the wet grass. Looking up at the sky, all he saw were grey clouds that covered the sun. It was as if the weather reflected his mood right now.

"are you ok" Kirsty asked concerned, kneeling down next to him "you seem a little down" kirsty said looking at him, he seemed sad everyone seemed to be sad at the moment, she thought about everything that had been happening she sighed shaking her head she didn’t want to think about her troubles.

"You'd feel down too if you were in my situation," he said looking at glancing at her. He sat up again closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. "I'm Stephan Kerr by the way."

"A situation that involves an ex gaining full custody of your child," Stephan said, skipping another rock, yet this one was thrown with more force and it didn't even skip, it just fell in the water with a splash.

Flyte tripped along the path, singing surprisingly well at the top of her lungs. She was bare foot and wearing only her school dress, her robe having been dispatched somewhere along the way to 'dry'.
She let her hair out of its braids and spun around in circles, she was just about to burst out loudly into the chorus of her song when she noticed the Professor down by the lake - with a woman.

Stephan was just about to skip another rock when he heard a familiar voice. The voice of a happy little empath that he encountered a few nights ago and gave detention to. He glanced over at her and noticed she was walking the path. He then turned his attention back to the water, released the stone from his hand and watched it skip over the lake's surface.

Flyte skipped towards the Professor, a grin on her face.
'Good day Professor Kerr and friend! I hope that you are well this evening!' She paused in her skipping and curtsied to them both with a bigger grin.

"Physical well, I am," Stephan said raising an eyebrow at Flyte as she curtsied. Everytime he saw her, she always surprised him with some sort of saying or action. "Though, I am surprised you haven't felt it yet."

This announcement pulled Flyte up short, her own good mood had been blocking all sorts of things all day and she switched her ability back on. Gently she knelt before the Professor and tilted her head to one side, tuning into his frequency.
'Ouch,' she grimaced. 'That hurts, lots.' She held onto her chest and turned sympathetic and concerned eyes to him.
'The letter?'

"If you had be paying attention around here, you would have noticed that I was gone for 3 days Miss Morticroft," Stephan said as he picked up another stone. "If you remember correctly, the first of those 3 days were listed in that letter I let you read that night."
He stood up and threw the stone as hard as he could in the lake. It splashed in the water quite a bit aways, but not too far from where they had been when they spotted the werewolf that night.

'Well as much as I love you I am afraid I do have my own life..' she chided him. 'but you are right as your Happy Fairy I have failed you.'
Flyte figured out pretty quickly that the court proceedings must not have gone too well. She flopped onto her bottom and watched the rain.

"She got remarried to a muggle," Stephan stated as he sat down beside her. "Even though he was a muggle, they decided 2 parents provided a better stability for my son than a single parent."
He explained this all to her and he chanced a glance at the small pier not too far away from them. Shaking his head, he silently wished that he never met Jenna there, for he wouldn't have these problems now.
